Pair your Tesla's screen, in 2 minutes

The walkthrough

1. In the car, open the browser and go to geticar.com/app. The screen shows a short code and a QR.

2. On your phone, in the app or on geticar.com, open the Cars section and enter the code (or scan the QR).

3. Done: the grid appears in the car, and anything you change from the phone shows up there within seconds, nothing to type at the wheel.

What happens technically

The car receives a device cookie, specific to that screen: no password stored in the car, no account session. The screen reads your grid and display settings, nothing more; account, payment and language stay on the phone.

You can unpair anytime, from the car (the Sign out tile) or from the Screens section of the app, which lists everything linked.

Edge cases

Two cars: pair each screen, then tell each one which car it watches; theme and display settings are per screen.

Lent or sold car: unpair the screen from the app and the grid disappears from the car immediately.

No Tesla account linked? Pairing still works: the grid, map, weather and tools run without linking Tesla; linking adds battery, trips and charging.
