Streaming & On Demand

Your media library.And the world's.

iCar puts thousands of TV channels, radio stations and podcasts from around the world, your Plex and Jellyfin libraries and a few games on the car's screen, so that a charging stop looks like something other than waiting in front of a gauge.

TV, radio and podcasts. In a single screen.

Nothing to install, no account to create.

A single screen brings together three things you used to look for elsewhere: live television, radio and podcasts. A sidebar sorts everything by category (news, music, sport, culture) and a search finds a channel among the thousand the catalog holds. Nothing to install, no account to create, no key to type on a touchscreen: open the tile, pick one, it starts.

It is worldwide, not national. A British news channel, a Brazilian jazz radio, a French news podcast and a Korean K-pop channel sit in the same list, and your country rises to the top without locking you in. Radio and podcasts open the catalog well beyond television: thousands of stations and the most-listened podcasts, by country, plus a search that reaches for the rest.

Your music.Not a rented catalog.

Thousands of tracks, no subscription, no quota.

Thanks to Plex and Jellyfin, thousands of titles that are yours, with no streaming subscription, no quota, and no catalog that changes overnight. The bytes go from your server to your car, never through us: iCar provides the screen and the player, nothing else sits in between. A server shared with you by someone else works too: it appears next to yours, marked as shared.

Your media library.In the car.

Your Plex server.
Your Plex server. Your movies, your shows and above all your music, on the Tesla's screen. Link your account once, with a code entered on plex.tv like on a TV, and your libraries appear with their posters and album art.
Your Jellyfin server.
Your Jellyfin server. Same idea with Jellyfin: your movies, shows and music, browsed with a finger. An album plays through to its last track, in disc order.
Your comics and books.
Your comics and books. Comics in CBZ, books in EPUB and PDFs from your Jellyfin server open in a reader made for a finger, with their chapters. The page where you stopped is waiting in your other Jellyfin apps.

Pictures when parked.Sound on the road.

What you were watching carries on like a radio.

Audio is what matters most. The picture is hidden as soon as the car moves; a radio, a podcast, a music channel are listened to while driving. What you were watching while parked then carries on like a radio set, and the picture returns the moment you stop. A favorite rises to the top without leaving its place, and "Resume" brings back the last thing you played in a single tap.

Nothing goes through our servers. From broadcaster to your screen.

One less middleman between the source and you.

For television as for Plex, the car contacts the source directly. iCar relays nothing, stores nothing, re-encodes nothing: we provide the list and the player, the stream goes from the broadcaster, or from your server, to your screen. That is better for quality, one fewer intermediary between the source and you, and it is what makes the feature possible without charging for bandwidth.

It is also a deliberate limit: channels that refuse playback from another domain are dropped rather than relayed. They are fewer than one stream in six, and relaying them would have made iCar a rebroadcaster.

Games for the breaks.Nothing to install.

Snake today, more to come.

Alongside streaming, the Entertainment section holds games that run in the car, with nothing to install and no account. Snake is there today, with its best score kept from one game to the next: the game you start without thinking about it while the car charges.

More will come. We are looking for games that can be picked up again after an interruption rather than reflex games that punish one: you play while parked, and a charge ends when it ends.

And there's more.

Your favorite channels. One heart, and the channel moves to the top of the list. “Resume” brings back the last one you played in a single tap.

Pick up where you left off. A Plex movie you stopped resumes at the minute you left it, right from the screen's home.

Language and subtitles. Choose your audio language and subtitles once: they apply to everything you play.

Four quality levels. Set the video quality to suit your connection, from data saving to the best picture.

Albums play through. When a track ends the next one starts, on Plex as on Jellyfin.

The player follows you. The music keeps going when you leave the screen: the player stays at the bottom of every page of the home screen.
