Terms of Service
Updated October 3, 2026
These terms govern the use of iCar for Tesla, available at geticar.com, in vehicle browsers and in the iPhone and Android apps. Creating an account constitutes acceptance of these terms. How your data is handled is described separately, in the privacy policy, which forms an integral part of them.
1. What the service does
iCar for Tesla replaces the home page of a vehicle's built-in browser with a customizable home screen: a grid of large bookmark tiles, weather and a map at the vehicle's position, built-in tools and small apps, and, on the road, announcements of speed cameras, traffic events, community reports and points of interest along the route. The iPhone and Android apps add the Cockpit, which shows speed and the current drive on the phone.
An optional subscription additionally opens the features that rely on the Tesla account connection and the entertainment content described in section 9.
The grid is managed from a phone or computer and syncs automatically to the vehicle.
2. Account
Opening an account requires a valid email address. iCar for Tesla uses no passwords: you sign in through a link or code sent by email, or with an existing Apple, Google or Tesla account.
You are responsible for access to your inbox and to any third-party accounts you use to sign in. An account is personal.
3. Use while driving
iCar for Tesla displays information on a vehicle screen. Using it must never take precedence over attention to driving, nor breach the applicable road traffic rules.
The vehicle screen should only be operated when traffic conditions allow. The information shown, in particular weather, map, speed cameras, traffic, community reports and point-of-interest announcements, is indicative and is neither a driving aid nor a navigation aid. The speed that applies is the one set by road signs and traffic conditions.
Rules on devices that warn of speed checks differ from country to country. It is up to you to check what is allowed where you drive, and to turn these announcements off if needed.
4. Third-party content
Bookmarks point to third-party sites that iCar for Tesla neither publishes nor controls. Access to those sites, their availability and their own terms are the responsibility of their publishers. The same applies to the TV channels, radio stations and podcasts available through the service, which are broadcast by their publishers.
You are responsible for the addresses you add to your grid, and for the personal Plex or Jellyfin libraries you link to it.
5. Community reports
You may report a police check, an accident or an obstacle, including roadworks. The report is placed at your vehicle's position at the moment you make it, and it is visible to other drivers without your name or email address. They may confirm or dismiss it, and a report that is no longer confirmed disappears.
You agree to report only what you see yourself. False reports, or reports repeated to cause a nuisance, are abusive use within the meaning of section 14. Reports come from other users: we do not guarantee that they are accurate or current.
6. Pairing a vehicle
Pairing links a vehicle browser to your account using a code shown on screen. This link grants access to your bookmark grid from that vehicle.
A paired screen also lets anyone using it change your display settings and, if you have linked your Tesla account, send commands to your vehicle, including locking and Sentry Mode. A shared, borrowed, rented or sold vehicle must therefore be unpaired, which you can do at any time from the vehicle itself or from your management area. It is your responsibility to do so before parting with the vehicle.
7. Availability
The service is provided as is and on a best-effort basis. Interruptions may occur, in particular for maintenance or because of third parties the service depends on.
iCar for Tesla may evolve, and some features may be changed or withdrawn.
8. Liability
iCar for Tesla is a display and convenience service. It is not a driving aid, not a measuring instrument and not a safety device: weather, maps, speed-camera, traffic, community-report and point-of-interest announcements, vehicle readings and calculated distances are all indicative, and the vehicle's own instruments prevail.
Some of that information comes from third parties: the vehicle manufacturer, mapping services, public databases and other users. We do not guarantee its accuracy, its completeness or its availability, and an outage at any one of them may suspend the feature that depends on it.
Commands are sent to the vehicle at your request, or according to settings you have turned on yourself, such as the charge limit by place or the Sentry Mode response. Carrying them out is up to the vehicle and its manufacturer: we cannot guarantee that a command reaches it, nor that it succeeds. Do not make your safety or the safety of your property depend on one.
We are liable for damage resulting directly from a failure on our part. We are not liable for the consequences of use contrary to these terms or to traffic rules, for the failure of a third-party service, or for the loss of data you deleted yourself.
Nothing here limits the rights that law grants consumers on a mandatory basis.
9. Subscription and pricing
iCar for Tesla is free, with no time limit and no advertising. An optional subscription unlocks the features that rely on the Tesla account connection, such as battery tracking, the charging log and its cost, trips recorded by the vehicle itself, the charge limit by place, remote commands and advanced Sentry Mode features, as well as entertainment content: TV, radio, podcasts and Plex and Jellyfin libraries. The current list is on the pricing page, geticar.com/pricing.
A subscription covers up to two vehicles on the same account.
Pricing is €4.99 per month or €49 per year, inclusive of tax, the applicable tax being that of the customer's country of residence. In other currencies, the applicable price is the one shown at the time of subscription; where it is shown before tax, the applicable tax is added at checkout.
A first subscription starts with a fourteen-day free trial. Nothing is charged during the trial; unless you cancel before it ends, the subscription starts and the first charge is made on that date. For a subscription taken on the website, an email reminds you a few days before the trial ends.
The subscription renews automatically at each term and is charged on that date, until canceled.
A price change never applies to a period already paid for. You are notified before the following term and remain free to cancel before it takes effect.
10. Payment
Payments taken on geticar.com are processed by Stripe Payments Europe, Ltd. Card details are entered on Stripe's pages and never pass through our servers, which store none of them.
A subscription purchased inside the iPhone app is sold and billed by Apple instead, under App Store terms; inside the Android app, by Google, under Google Play terms. We know only its purchase identifier, the plan chosen and its renewal date; payment, invoices and refunds are Apple's or Google's.
If a charge fails, the subscription moves to a pending state: paid features close until the payment method is updated, without any recorded data being deleted.
10a. Founders offer
Until October 30, 2026 and within the limit of one hundred places, iCar offers a Founders offer: a one-time payment of €99 including tax, by card on geticar.com, which unlocks the subscription features with no term and no renewal.
"For life" means for as long as the iCar for Tesla service is operated. Access is personal, attached to the account that purchased it, and cannot be assigned or transferred. Like the subscription, it covers up to two vehicles on the same account.
The Founder title and number confer no right beyond the benefits described on the offer page, including access to beta versions on request. They make the buyer neither a partner nor a member of an association.
A subscription taken on geticar.com or in the Android app and running at the time of purchase is stopped, with no further charge. A subscription purchased inside the iPhone app belongs to Apple: it must be canceled in your iOS settings.
As access starts immediately, you expressly request that performance when purchasing, under the conditions of article 12.
11. Canceling the subscription
You may cancel at any time and online, from your subscription management area, without giving a reason.
A subscription purchased inside the iPhone app is canceled in your iOS settings instead: it belongs to Apple, and we have no way of ending it for you. A subscription purchased inside the Android app is canceled in Google Play, from the app's "Manage my subscription" button.
Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current period: paid features stay open until that date, and no further charge is made. Periods already started are not refunded pro rata. Canceling during the trial ends it without any charge.
When the subscription closes, paid features close with it and the vehicle stops reporting data. Your trips, bookmarks and settings are kept: we degrade the service, we do not erase your data.
12. Right of withdrawal
You have fourteen days to withdraw from a subscription, without having to give a reason.
As the subscription starts immediately, you expressly request that immediate performance when ordering and thereby waive your right of withdrawal once the service has been fully performed. You may exercise this right by writing to contact@geticar.com.
13. Personal data
The data iCar for Tesla processes, why it does so, how long it is kept, which services have access to it and your rights over it are described in the privacy policy, available at geticar.com/privacy. It is updated independently of these terms, whenever a change to the service affects your data.
Some features only process data if you turn them on, such as trip recording or the monthly email summary. Each can be turned off from your settings.
14. Deleting or suspending an account
You may delete your account at any time, from your management area or from the page geticar.com/suppression-compte. Deletion is confirmed through a link sent by email; it then erases your data, under the conditions and with the exceptions described in the privacy policy.
iCar for Tesla may suspend an account in case of manifestly abusive use or breach of these terms, in particular repeated false reports.
15. Governing law
These terms are governed by French law. Disputes should first be addressed amicably; consumers may also refer the matter free of charge to a consumer mediator before any court action.
