News (RSS feeds)
Your news.Page by page.
Articles from your favorite sites on the car's big screen, read like a book: you turn the pages with a finger during a charge, with no cookie banner and no ads.
Your sources.And ours.
Three suggested in your language, plus your own.
iCar suggests three sources in your language, chosen mostly because they publish their full articles: in English, Teslarati, Tesla Oracle and EVANNEX. The catalog also has sources in French, Spanish, German and Italian, shown in one tap.
You add your own with the website address: iCar finds its feed by itself. A source can be renamed, hidden, moved or deleted from "Manage feeds", and as soon as your sources mix two languages, a language filter appears.
Like a book.Not like a website.
Pages you turn, never a scroll.
An article opens in pages, like iCar's book reader: a tap on the right edge moves forward, on the left edge moves back, and a swipe does the same. On the Tesla's screen, the text reads in one or two columns, your choice.
You read the article's text, headings and images, without the website's cookie banners, pop-ups or ads. On the last page, the next article is one tap away.
Nothing gets lost.Everything is easy to find.
Unread, read, read later.
Each source shows its number of unread articles, and an article you have read fades in the list. The bookmark puts an article in "Read later": iCar keeps it whole on the screen where you saved it, even after it has left the site's feed.
The article of the moment shows in large, the others follow in a grid, and the refresh button fetches what is new.
Publishers credited.Your reading, yours.
Feeds are read by our servers, not by the car.
Every article carries the name of its source, and its last page leads to the article on the website. Some sites only publish an excerpt in their feed: the page says so, and "Open on the website" leads to the rest.
Feeds are fetched by our servers: the car only contacts the sites for images. The articles you read and the ones you keep for later are remembered on your screen, never on our servers.
And there's more.
Five languages. Sources suggested in English, French, Spanish, German and Italian.
An address is enough. Type a website's address: iCar finds its feed, RSS or Atom.
