Releases

What changed in iCar, version by version.

0.7.0 August 14, 2026

  • Live TV in the car: the channels of your country, one tap away, with a subscription.
  • Your favourite channels at the top of the list, and zapping from one to the next without going back to the catalogue.
  • Email yourself a trip, with its route attached — it opens in any map app.
  • Pay for your subscription in your own currency: euro, dollar, pound, Swiss franc or Canadian dollar.
  • A charge limit per place: 80% at home, 100% at work. iCar sets it when you plug in, without ever being told an address.
  • Bug fixes and improvements.

0.6.0 August 12, 2026

  • Native navigation: iCar shows the destination set in the car, and can send it one from a landmark, a charger or the map.
  • Destination search from the car's map: an address, a town or a Supercharger, sent to the navigation with one tap.
  • Speed cameras are announced along the way and shown on the map, with the enforced speed when it is known.
  • Superchargers across Europe and the United States join those in France, for 5,400 stations in all.
  • The charging log now gives energy delivered, the charger's name and the cost — billed by Tesla, or estimated from your own rates.
  • The interface speaks Spanish and German, and the country setting covers the whole world.
  • The map zooms with a pinch, and a single basemap is now served everywhere.

0.5.0 August 7, 2026

  • Subscription: €5 per month or €50 per year, cancellable online at any time. The rest of iCar stays free, with no time limit.
  • The car speaks for itself: battery, range and odometer in the header, with degradation details and a charging log.
  • Trips are recorded by the vehicle itself, without the gaps the browser left behind, including charge at start and finish.
  • Tesla Superchargers you can actually reach on the remaining range now appear on the map.
  • Points of interest: 44,581 entries now, Europe and the United States on top of France, plus a Take me there button.
  • New Games section for subscribers, with Snake — the snake's head is a plug, the apples are charging stations.
  • Welcome flow when creating an account, terms of service, privacy policy and legal notice.

0.4.0 August 4, 2026

  • Landmarks announced along the way now come with a summary and a photo, plus a Read button that opens the article without leaving iCar.
  • Sign in with a Tesla account, read-only: iCar displays, it never sends commands.
  • New iCar section in the car: information, account access, and a sign-out for rental vehicles.
  • New Cloud section: Google Drive, iCloud and OneDrive.
  • Redesigned home page, built around what the product does.
  • TeslaMate linking removed from the interface: it only concerned users self-hosting an instance.
