Terms of Service

1. What the service does

iCar replaces the home page of a vehicle's built-in browser with a customisable home screen: a grid of large bookmark tiles, weather and a map at the vehicle's position, built-in tools, and announcements of points of interest along the route.

The grid is managed from a phone or computer and syncs automatically to the vehicle.

2. Account

Opening an account requires a valid email address. iCar uses no passwords: you sign in through a link sent by email, or with an existing Google or Tesla account.

You are responsible for access to your inbox and to any third-party accounts you use to sign in. An account is personal.

3. Use while driving

iCar displays information on a vehicle screen. Using it must never take precedence over attention to driving, nor breach the applicable road traffic rules.

The vehicle screen should only be operated when traffic conditions allow. The information shown — in particular weather, map and point-of-interest announcements — is indicative and is neither a driving aid nor a navigation aid.

4. Third-party content

Bookmarks point to third-party sites that iCar neither publishes nor controls. Access to those sites, their availability and their own terms are the responsibility of their publishers.

You are responsible for the addresses you add to your grid.

5. Pairing a vehicle

Pairing links a vehicle browser to your account using a code shown on screen. This link grants access to your bookmark grid from that vehicle.

A shared, borrowed or rented vehicle can be unpaired at any time, from the vehicle itself or from your management area. It is your responsibility to do so before parting with the vehicle.

6. Availability

The service is provided as is and on a best-effort basis. Interruptions may occur, in particular for maintenance or because of third parties the service depends on.

iCar may evolve, and some features may be changed or withdrawn.

7. Liability

Nothing here limits the rights that law grants consumers on a mandatory basis.

8. Subscription and pricing

iCar is free. An optional subscription unlocks the features that rely on the vehicle manufacturer's API: battery, range and odometer readings, charging log, reachable chargers, and trips recorded by the vehicle itself.

Pricing is €5 per month or €50 per year, inclusive of tax. The applicable tax is that of the customer's country of residence.

The subscription renews automatically at each term and is charged on that date, until cancelled.

A price change never applies to a period already paid for. You are notified before the following term and remain free to cancel before it takes effect.

9. Payment

Payments are processed by Stripe Payments Europe, Ltd. Card details are entered on Stripe's pages and never pass through our servers, which store none of them.

If a charge fails, the subscription moves to a pending state: paid features close until the payment method is updated, without any recorded data being deleted.

10. Cancelling the subscription

You may cancel at any time and online, from your subscription management area, without giving a reason.

Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current period: paid features stay open until that date, and no further charge is made. Periods already started are not refunded pro rata.

When the subscription closes, paid features close with it and the vehicle stops reporting data. Your trips, bookmarks and settings are kept: we degrade the service, we do not erase your data.

11. Right of withdrawal

You have fourteen days to withdraw from a subscription, without having to give a reason.

As the subscription starts immediately, you expressly request that immediate performance when ordering and thereby waive your right of withdrawal once the service has been fully performed. You may exercise this right by writing to contact@geticar.com.

12. Deleting your account

You may delete your account at any time from your management area. Deletion erases your data as described in the privacy policy.

iCar may suspend an account in case of manifestly abusive use or breach of these terms.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by French law. Disputes should first be addressed amicably; consumers may also refer the matter free of charge to a consumer mediator before any court action.
